Theft
Theft cases come in different varieties. If you are accused of any type of theft, it is important to have a good lawyer on your side.
Burglary
Burglary is a Class 2 felony, which is punishable in the penitentiary from 3 to 7 years. Probation is also a possible sentence. Residential burglary is more serious. It is a class 1 felony with a maximum sentence of 15 years in jail.
Robbery
Robbery without a weapon is a Class 2 felony, punishable from 3 to 7 years in jail. Probation is also available as a sentence to robbery. Armed robbery is a Class X offense, with a possible jail sentence of 6 to 30 years. In some cases, the sentence can be higher than 30 years. Probation is not a possible sentence for armed robbery.
